Taratantara by Anish Kapoor

Tarantara by Anish Kapoor

Plebiscito Square, Naples - 2000

Two big Layher towers support a wide red PVC tarpaulin with a consistency similar to velvet rubber, covering a wide area (50 meters long and 35 meters wide and high) by surrounding a physical and psychical place with two holes: one facing Monte di Dio hill and the other facing the sea.

The result astonishes and fascinates: the work piece leads to multiple views, interpretations and analogies: it resembles a bridge, a tunnel, a huge bow tie, a kite, a kaleidoscope.
